Bevel Gearbox have a special place in the field of Power Transmission because of their ability to change the direction of Power Transmission, usually to 90 degree. Bevel Gearbox can also transmit high torque at high speed with low power loss unlike Worm Gearbox. Working  Principle
Bevel Gear Box housing is of cubical  form for dimensional symmetry. The  housing and bearing flanges are made from high quality cast iron. Tapped mounting holes are provide on two opposite sides. The drive input is usually on input shaft, but other side of input shaft or Output shaft can also act  as Input Driver.
Input and Output shafts are made of medium carbon alloy steel, hardened, tempered and ground on journal and locating diameters.
Pre loaded metric tapered roller bearings are used for axial and radial loads.
Bevel gears are of case hardened steel  with generated profile and ground bores. The gears are matched for optimum blue bearing for smooth running and high load transmission.
